Pay for the holiday, not for the month

You take a holiday two or three times a year. Charging you every month for that would be a strange way to run a business, so the main way to pay is once, per trip, for everyone on it.

When Unlimited overtakes the pass

On price alone the pass wins until you are taking a lot of holidays. Unlimited is really for frequent travellers, and for scanning receipts every month rather than once per trip.

Questions about paying

Does every person on the trip have to pay £6.99?
No. The Holiday Pass belongs to the trip, not to a person. Whoever organises the holiday pays £6.99 once, and everyone they invite gets the full version at no cost. A group of eight pays £6.99 in total.
Is there a monthly subscription?
No. Travel is episodic, so a monthly fee would mean paying for the eleven months you are not going anywhere. The only recurring option is Unlimited at £34.99 a year, and even that is optional.
What is actually missing from the free version?
The group. A free holiday holds you and one other person, and that is the real limit. Everything else about running a holiday is there: every day, as many plans as you like, the packing list, splitting the money, the currency converter and working with no signal. When you need the third person on it, that is what the £6.99 buys.
What happens when I hit the free limits?
You see what unlocking gives you, and nothing you have already added is deleted, hidden or locked behind the paywall. Your existing plans, outfits and packing list stay exactly as they are.
Do you charge extra for offline access?
No. Your holiday saves to your phone on both the free and paid versions, because a planner that goes blank the moment you turn roaming off is not much of a planner. Other apps charge around £30 a year for this.
When is Unlimited worth it?
On holiday count alone, from around your sixth in a year: five passes come to £34.95 and six to £41.94, against Unlimited at £34.99. Below that, buy passes. Its other draw is the receipt scanning: 200 scans every month rather than a one-off allowance for a single trip.
What if my Unlimited subscription runs out?
Every holiday you already created stays viewable and stays unlocked. You just cannot create new fully unlocked holidays until you renew or buy a Holiday Pass for the next one. We never hold your holiday data hostage.
Can I get a refund?
If something is genuinely broken or the product is not what you expected, get in touch and we will sort it out.
Do you take payment details?
Payments run through Stripe. Holiday Board never sees or stores your card number.
