A day by day trip planner, in the literal sense

Day by day planning is a claim a lot of apps make and very few actually do. Usually it means you can attach a date to something you saved, and the app will sort by that date if you ask nicely.

Here the day is the organising unit. The first screen of a holiday is a row of dates. You tap one, and you get that day. There is no other view to get lost in.

The day strip

Across the top of every holiday is a scrollable row of dates: MON 12, TUE 13, WED 14 and so on, each with a small weather icon and a dot for every plan on it. You can see at a glance which days are full and which are still empty.

While you are actually away, it opens on today. Before you go, it opens on the first day or wherever you were last looking.

What one day looks like

Monday 12

  • Beach Club

    Leave 10:30 Starts 11:00

    Bring: towel, sunscreen, sunglasses

  • Dinner

    Leave 19:15 Starts 20:00

Table booked for 6, reservation under Sarah

Why the day matters more than the category

When you are at home planning, categories feel tidy. When you are standing in a villa kitchen at half nine in the morning trying to work out whether anyone has actually booked the boat, they are useless.

The question people ask on holiday is always some version of "what are we doing today, and what time do we need to leave". A day-first structure answers that in one tap.

Empty days are part of the plan

Not every day needs filling. A day with nothing on it simply says nothing planned yet, with a button to add something. That is a legitimate state, and often the best one.

Questions

How many days can a holiday be?
Up to 60. That covers everything from a weekend to a long summer.
What if I add days after I have started planning?
The new days appear empty and everything already planned stays exactly where it was.
Can I see the whole trip at once?
The day strip shows every date with a marker for how busy it is, so you can see the shape of the trip and then open whichever day you need.
