A holiday itinerary planner that starts with the days

Most itinerary tools ask you to file things into categories first: hotels here, restaurants there, attractions somewhere else. Then on the Tuesday of your holiday you are hunting through four tabs to work out what time the boat leaves.

Holiday Board goes the other way round. You put in your dates, every day of the holiday appears, and you fill in the days. On the Tuesday, you open Tuesday.

Every date gets its own day

A trip from the 12th to the 18th of June creates seven days: Monday 12 through to Sunday 18. You never create a date manually, and you never end up with plans floating loose with no day attached.

If your dates change, the days change with them. Add two nights and two more days appear. Shorten the trip and, if a day you would lose already has plans on it, we tell you before anything goes.

What goes on an itinerary entry

  • What you are doing, in your own words: Airport, Beach, Boat Trip, Dinner, Spa
  • What time it starts, and what time it ends if that matters
  • What time the group needs to leave, which is not the same thing
  • Where it is: venue name, address, and a map link that opens your maps app
  • Notes: table booked for six, reservation under Sarah, deposit already paid, smart casual
  • Links: the menu, the booking confirmation, the tickets, the reel someone sent
  • Whether it is just planned or actually booked

Ordered the way the day happens

Entries sort themselves chronologically, by leave time first and start time second, because the leave time is what you are actually working backwards from. You can drag things into a different order if your day does not follow the clock.

Days with nothing on them are perfectly valid. A holiday with three empty days is a holiday with three days free, and the board says so rather than nagging you.

Shared, but not entirely

The itinerary belongs to the group. Anyone on the trip can add a plan, change a time or fix an address, and everyone sees it straight away.

What you are wearing is yours alone. So is your packing list. The shared things are shared and the personal things are personal, and the two never get mixed up.

Questions

Can I plan more than one holiday?
Yes. A free account covers one holiday. Beyond that, either unlock each holiday with a £6.99 Holiday Pass or take Unlimited at £34.99 a year.
Can I copy a plan onto another day?
Yes. Duplicating a plan copies its times, location, notes and bring list onto whichever day you choose. Outfits are not copied, because they are personal and you probably are not wearing the same thing twice.
Does it work offline?
You need a connection to load and save, but you can add Holiday Board to your home screen so it opens like an app.
